Reasons for your visa application being denied

Why are visa applications rejected?

Visa applications are rejected for many reasons such as (but not limited to) insufficient documentation, failure to disclose previous visa violations or criminal history, errors on the application form or incomplete or inaccurate information, and lack of ties to applicant’s home country etc. Understanding these common mistakes can help applicants avoid rejection and improve their chances of a successful application in the future.

What happens if the visa application is rejected?

If the visa application is rejected or denied, the applicant has the right to ask the consulate for the reason why their application was rejected to issue a visa. Then, the applicant can find out the way to take the next step and learn if he/she may be eligible for a visa in the future. If they deny the application based on the grounds of inadmissibility, the applicant should focus on waiver filing process. If the waiver is approved, the applicant may be issued a visa.
